XC 17 Awards Dinner

Where: First Presbyterian Church - 108 Washington St, Monroe, MI 48161
What: Dinner and Awards
Menu - Chicken, mostaccioli
Potluck items:
Senior boys- Plates/silverware/napkins
Senior girls - deserts +Madie Shroyer - cupcakes
All Juniors - side dishes and veggies
All Sophomores - side dishes and veggies
All Freshman - drinks...bottled water/gatorade/pop
Please bring coolers for drinks.

State Finals & Post Season

Hello parents,


Thanks again for all of your help this season.  

While enjoying the team's success this season, we can't ignore our awesome support system; our amazing family. 

Camp, pasta dinners, Bork Classic, course set up, meet management, concessions stand, picnics, pasta dinners, cheer-leading - you are so appreciated!!!

State Finals

As mentioned before, we are one of the host schools for the MHSAA State Finals at Michigan International Speedway on Saturday, November 4.

As one of the host schools for the MHSAA State Cross Country Finals, my responsibilities include measuring and lining the course, and providing 22 adults to direct traffic and check parking credentials at MIS on race day.  For our efforts, the team receives approximately $1500.

4:00 pm Divisions 1 & 2 Awards 
  • MHSXC responsibilities:  
    • Coach Scoles & Coach Bork:
      • Attend a meeting at MIS in September and another in November.  
      • Organize all signs.  
      • Set up course - Sunday after Bork Classic, measure and paint course boundaries, Sunday after Regional, measure again, paint race line, and set up mile marker signs.   
      • Draw box assignments
  • MHSXC family responsibilities
    • Day of State Finals - check parking credential and direct traffic.

Post season opportunities

  • Sunday, 11/5/17
    • Monroe Half Marathon - Todd Williams is now the race director of the Monroe Half Marathon.  The Monroe Half is an awesome event and tremendous fundraiser for Special Olympics.  Traditionally a group of MHSXC athletes run in this event that takes place the day after the state finals.  This is not an official MHSXC race, but our runners have had fun with it in the past.  

      Todd has been a tremendous supporter of our program and now we have a chance to support him!!! If you're not interested in running 13.1 miles, but would like to help, please complete this online form.

  • Tuesday, 11/7 - Optional group run at Munson Park - No bus
  • Wednesday, 11/8 - Mandatory Uniform Return - 2:30 at MHS Track - 
    • Optional 1 mile time trial & Ice Cream!!!
